OnePlus 8 Lite specifications, price leaked ahead of launch

OnePlus 8 Lite is tipped to sport a 6.4-inch display with a MediaTek Dimensity 1000 processor hidden inside. Here's all you need to know.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • OnePlus 8 Lite is expected to be launched in April
  • This will be the first Lite smartphone from OnePlus
  • It could get a 6.4-inch display
It’s no secret that we’re nearing the launch of OnePlus’s upcoming smartphones. The series is said to bring with itself three new phones, including the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and the OnePlus 8 Lite. Of the three, it’s arguably the latter which has gotten the least amount of media love ahead of the launch.
However, that now appears to have changed, with 91Mobiles claiming to have leaked the entire specs and timeline ahead of the launch of the device. Considering that this is the first Lite variant by the company, it’s interesting to get a look at the leaked information about the device ahead of the launch.
The report by 91Mobiles cites noted tipster Ishan Agarwal, who claims the device will come with a 90Hz refresh rate, punch-hole display, and a MediaTek chipset. The report also reveals the price of the upcoming device.
The OnePlus 8 Lite is tipped to come priced at GBP 400 (approx Rs 37,500). However, considering the UK pricing of the device is always a little higher compared to the Indian variant, the device is expected to be launched at a more affordable price point in India.
The report also claims the phone will be available in India by July this year. However, that could just be the date of the first sale with the phone expected to be launched in India at a much earlier date.
As for the specs, the report claims the phone could come with a centrally aligned punch-hole display. The display is expected to be 6.4-inches in size and unlike the OnePus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will only support 90Hz refresh rate.
Apart from this, the smartphone is said to support a MediaTek chipset, which may be the Dimensity 1000 SoC according to rumours. The cameras on the device could see a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel secondary camera and a 12-megapixel lens sat next to it.
For battery, the phone will come running a 4,000mAh pack with 30W Warp fast-charging support be available in two variants: 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB internal storage.
